Children's Week 2026
Children's Week 2026
From 5 to 9 October 2026, we celebrated Children's Week at European School Ljubljana. This year's slogan, Good Morning, Good Day – May Kindness Come Your Way Every Day, encouraged us to greet one another warmly and start each morning with small acts of kindness.
With the help of our Slovenian and Music teachers, we began our mornings by enthusiastically singing Dobro jutro, sonce (Good Morning, Sunshine) by Ivanka Polanc and Dobro jutro, dober dan (Good Morning, Good Day) by Neca Falk. We discussed the importance of kind and respectful communication, shared the little things that brighten our mornings and created posters featuring greetings in different languages.
Each day, during break times, students had the opportunity to take part in a variety of physical, team-based and creative games, making new friends and strengthening existing friendships along the way.
On Friday, all our primary students came together for a special celebration to mark the end of Children's Week. We sang songs, enjoyed a dance performance and shared our thoughts on why celebrating Children's Week is so important.
We were also delighted to welcome our visiting students from Wales during this special week and to share a wide range of activities and experiences with them.
Although Children's Week has come to an end, we hope that the wonderful experiences and small acts of kindness will stay with us throughout the year, reminding us every day how special it is to create moments filled with children's laughter, joy and warmth.
