EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES AT THE EUROPEAN SCHOOL LJUBLJANA
EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES AT THE EUROPEAN SCHOOL LJUBLJANA
On Friday, 25 September 2026, we celebrated the European Day of Languages at the European School Ljubljana.

Children from Nursery and pupils from P1 to P5 from both language sections were divided into mixed groups and took part in a variety of linguistic and cultural challenges. For each challenge they successfully completed, they received a stamp in their Language Passport.

The pupils identified European capitals, languages and greetings, learnt new words in different languages, and discovered a variety of cultures, foods and cities. They also created their own characters using their imagination. In the afternoon, the older pupils read to the younger pupils in a range of different languages.

The day was primarily about bringing pupils together, encouraging cooperation and celebrating linguistic and cultural diversity. Through fun and engaging activities, the pupils learnt from one another, discovered new languages and cultures, and broadened their horizons.
It was another wonderful day that reminded us that our different languages and cultures enrich us and bring us together.
