International Day of La Francophonie
International Day of La Francophonie
On Thursday, 19 March 2026, we marked the International Day of La Francophonie – a day dedicated to celebrating the French language and Francophone culture. Our French theatre group actively took part in this year’s celebration, held at the Slovenian People’s Theatre in Celje under the guidance of Prof. Andreja Lorenščak.
The event, which honoured the memory of the late, legendary French teacher Mr Slavko Deržek, featured a diverse and engaging programme. Our students performed a short excerpt from a modern adaptation of Cinderella by Joël Pommerat, followed by a hip-hop dance routine to the song L’attentat (PLK ft. Oboy).
The programme was rich and highly engaging. Our students proudly presented their work and enjoyed the performances of other schools, from Nova Gorica to Maribor. These included a wide variety of theatrical, dance, and musical acts – ranging from adaptations of well-known works to entirely original pieces created by pupils and students.
We had a wonderful time and hope to take part again next year!
