International Francophile Day
International Francophile Day

On Thursday, March 19, 2026, we celebrated the International Day of La Francophonie—a day dedicated to celebrating the French language and Francophone culture. With our French theatre group, we actively took part in the celebration, which was hosted at the Slovensko ljudsko gledališče Celje under the guidance of prof. Andreja Lorenščak.
At the event, which was dedicated to the memory of the late legendary French teacher, Mr. Slavko Deržek, we presented a short excerpt from a modernized version of Cinderella (by Joël Pommerat), followed by a hip-hop dance performance to the song L’attentat (PLK ft. Oboy).
The program was rich and extremely engaging. The students proudly presented their creation and enjoyed the performances of other schools (from Nova Gorica to Maribor), which took the stage with a wide variety of theatrical, dance, and musical acts—both adaptations of well-known works and completely original pieces by students.
We had a wonderful time and hope to meet again next year!
