Last week the S3 students had a three-day trip to Javorniški Rovt, close by the border with Austria. Their activities mostly focused on learning outdoor survival skills (knot tying, starting fires, creating a makeshift stretcher, and building shelters). They also went on hikes to visit the source of the Javornik and to visit Zois Park, where they saw some fossils and trees collected from around the world, and hunted for small creatures in the creek. Other recreational activities included canoeing, wall climbing, and a disco evening. In the end, both the students and their accompanying teachers agreed that it was a great trip.
