“When do you feel included?” 

“What could you do to make others feel included?”

These are the driving questions we asked the students and ourselves as we celebrated World Children’s Day on the 22^nd of November 2022 in European School Ljubljana. This year’s theme is about inclusion for every child, and it kicked off with the Nursery and Primary students taking part in a collaborative display which made their thoughts and feelings about inclusion visible. The display aimed to represent the diversity of our students whilst sending a strong message that each is unique and an integral part of the whole school community.

The students also took part in fun and engaging games and team-building activities which enabled them to meet, connect and bond with students from another class. 

At the end of the event, we hoped that the students would not only make fond memories of playing with a new friend or two, but also realize that inclusion is imperative and in their own way they could do something to uphold it.
