Young Financial Whizzes in Action
Young Financial Whizzes in Action
On Thursday, 18 December, pupils from class P5S took part in an engaging and educational financial literacy workshop as part of the Be FIN project (Financially Informed Young Learners). The workshop was led by Ms Patricija Varšek, who introduced the pupils to the basics of money and finance in a clear, age-appropriate and interactive manner.
The session began with a short film about young financial whizzes, which immediately captured the pupils’ interest and encouraged discussion. Pupils then revised the first three chapters of their workbook before taking part in activities focused on the former Slovenian tolar and the euro. They also solved tasks related to the symbols found on banknotes and coins and learned how to identify whether a banknote is genuine or counterfeit.
Learning was further reinforced through educational games, including Banktivity and Finmemory, which combined key concepts with an element of fun. To conclude the workshop, each pupil received a Three in a Row game, allowing financial learning to continue at home.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Bank of Slovenia and its staff for their support in making this workshop a high-quality and successful learning experience.
Pupils left the workshop enthusiastic and with a stronger awareness that responsible money management is an essential life skill.
