Eggtastic Science and Nutria

Ever wondering how to slow down a falling object? Or how to prevent an object from breaking when dropping it from the top of the building? P5E have done the experiments to answer your curiosity. We had a week of hands on practical science lessons learning about forces and how to counteract them.

We learnt the best way to protect our eggs from breaking by designing high end parachutes and building protective barriers. After we learnt how to protect our eggs in the best way, and how to ensure we have a fair experiment as much as possible, we decided to see how we can slow down the effects of gravity. Some eggs were harmed in this experiment.

The next day, we went to the river by the nutria of course, and tested how different food floats and why, and if we change the shape of it will it now float? what about cut holes in it? We also did some natural observation of what food the nutria prefer and which ones they won't eat - did you know they dislike citrus? They sniffed our lemons, but didn't eat them, they are too busy being carrot obsessed.
