Everybody Loves Puppets

Our Slovene section P3’s had a special English trip this week to the puppet museum for an English language puppet work shop. Firstly, we took the funicular to the top of the castle, and were amazed by the view. Students came armed with lots of questions especially about Slovenia’s most loved mouse Sapramiska and the science behind puppets. Their teacher from Britain learnt all about different Slovenian puppets and cartoons too. Students were keen to show off their Slovene culture to Ms. O'Regan.

Students learnt about the robotics behind many different types of puppets, about the history of puppets in Slovenia, and why puppets can’t eat on stage. Students then at the end got 15 minutes to ‘play’ with the puppets and put on their own small puppet shows. Everyone had a great time!
