The motto of this year’s Handwriting Month was: “Humour is the best ink.”

At the Primary School of the European School Ljubljana, we dedicated special attention this year to handwriting, creativity, and the development of good writing habits. All 114 pupils from Years 1 to 5 of the English and Slovene sections took part in the project and, through a wide range of activities, demonstrated that handwriting continues to inspire, connect, and encourage creativity.

The pupils created comics, wrote letters and postcards to friends at the European School Brussels, prepared recipes, inspirational thoughts, poetic metaphors, collections of jokes, and artwork using ink. Humour played an especially important role in this year’s activities, as the pupils brought plenty of joy and laughter through their writing and jokes. We are particularly proud of the cooperation between the Slovene and English sections and of the creativity shown by all the pupils.
